Engraved Powder Horn David WrightKatie Horn
David Wright has created a grand silver mounted, scrimshawed horn for the 25th anniversary auction. This is a large horn, over sixteen inches on the outside curve, with a three-and-one- quarter-inch diameter butt. With a classic faceted silver inlaid throat, the horn features extensive silver work including a silver plate on the plug engraved with a sun face by well-known engrave, Chuck Edwards. Folk art scrimshaw covers the horn.
You should know that this year David is handling all of the CLF auction photography. As a result, his own project is taking a back seat to others. Photos of this remarkable horn will be posted online as soon as David and Chuck are done and he does the photography. It will be well worth the wait.
